AMERICAN VEDA DOCUMENTARY PROJECT LAUNCH

I am delighted to announce that I have teamed with acclaimed author Philip Goldberg to create the American Veda Documentary Project.  Inspired by Phil's book American Veda, and Stefanie Syman's book The Subtle Body,  AVDP consists of a documentary film, website, museum exhibit, and classroom study guides.

AVDP tells the fascinating story of how Hindu philosophy and the practices of Yoga have profoundly influenced American culture and spirituality from the time of Emerson, Thoreau, and Whitman, to the Beatles' seminal trip to India, and up through today's thriving Yoga scene.

We're excited to report that we've raised initial development funds, and we're aiming to double those funds by the end of 2015, so we can conduct important research and begin shooting key interviews with prominent teachers, scholars, and practitioners.

If you're inspired to support this project, there are many ways to express Dāna, the Sanskrit word that connotes the virtue of generosity.

You can make a tax-deductible donation here
(your gift, large or small, will move AVDP closer to fruition!)

Spread the word!  Share this project on social media, and let the world know how yoga or meditation has changed your life.  Share your favorite photo or pictures of your teachers with the hashtag #AmVedaDoc.  contact us at @AmVedaDoc or through this website.

Volunteer!  We need volunteers to help create a website, transcribe interviews, organize archival material, arrange fundraising house parties, and many more key tasks.  Work with us in person or remotely.
